A cutaway is an absolutely crucial component in a tree climbers kit. If an arborist became stuck, or incapacitated whilst in a tree (usually on a wire flipline, which can’t be cut), cutting through this will allow the person to be released, or free themselves, which, depending on the circumstances around the rescue, could save a huge amount of time and literally save a life in a worst case accident scenario.
