Description
This Newtown pattern billhook is a tool traditionally used for hedge laying as well as other tasks, such as harvesting of coppice material, small poles, working-up material and cleaving. It features a 5.5 inch long wooden handle, and a curved 9 inch blade with a single sharp edge. The tang is the full length of the handle. This Black-Down Forge billhook is suitable for both professional and domestic users and the nearest equivalent for Morris of Dunsford tools. Manufactured from high carbon steel (c45).
*The blade is suitable for sharpening by the user as required, and may require sharpening before first use (at the users discretion).

Speedy supply and delivery. The billhook quality is good for the price. Sharpening, as advertised, needs finishing off by oneself. I’m pleased.

Arrived quickly. I am very pleased with the purchase and have already put it to good use.
You could possibly look at providing a more permanent blade protector rather than the flimsy, narrow strip of plastic held in place with 2 cable ties.

Quick delivery and well packaged. Good quality for the price and when sharpened holds an edge well. Would purchase from this company again.
Mr Gordon Dudman –
Very good web ordering which gives confirmation and despatch details – the bill hook is excellent and hold its cutting edge – just right for splitting kindling.
